Our Story

Keynote speech
Guided by his experiences of how team performance can be improved, Philippe Ammann has worked intensively on the subject of crew resource management (CRM).

As an instructor for "human factors in teamwork" at Swiss Air Lines, he has been training pilots and flight attendants for more than 10 years. Topics such as anxiety-free communication, leadership, decision-making and resilience are central to high team performance.

After an HSG education, he founded Pilot Impuls as a logical consequence. He and his team, who share his passion, have come together to form the exclusive Pilot Impuls team in Switzerland. As experienced "silverbacks" with several decades of professional experience as leaders, we want to pass on our knowledge and experience.

The team's DNA contains knowledge and experience from civil and military aviation, medicine and emergency care, flight safety and just culture, negotiation and conflict management as well as crisis communication skills. We are all united by the central theme of "human factors" in teams.

We are all convinced that every company that has to deal with volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity (VUCA) benefits from a fearless learning culture. This cultural change, which the airline industry initiated more than 30 years ago, is increasingly being successfully implemented in other sectors. In hospitals, rescue organizations, power plant operators and wherever errors can lead to dangerous and costly incidents.
Any organization that is interested in improving its processes will benefit in a verifiable way.
The fear-free, open learning culture in which we are allowed to work allows us to experience for ourselves how it motivates us to achieve more of what is expected. "Go the extra mile" is what we call it. A company can neither buy this willingness nor "blackmail" it through pressure in a culture of fear. Employees will go the extra mile if they find meaning in their work, are part of a psychologically safe team and are involved in a fear-free, learning company culture. Then they give this extra voluntarily and gladly.

We enjoy what we do. And we are convinced that only inner motivation motivates people to perform at their best. Motivation requires trust and this framework is created by the leader - you! This benefits employees, customers, you as a manager and your entire organization.

Team collaboration factors and a strong corporate culture are universal. As a leader, you know the needs of your company inside out - we contribute our knowledge and experience of the human factors in team collaboration. By meeting with you as equals, we can achieve the goal you want together.
Our decades of experience as managers help us to understand and implement your needs. We are committed to your concerns - not because we have to, but because we want to!
